German MS Requirements for German Language
In Germany, the state government funds education with taxpayers’ money, allowing public universities to offer top-quality programs without tuition costs. However, students do need to pay an administration fee at the beginning of each year. Since most courses in public universities are taught in German to ensure accessibility for the majority, international students must know the German language to study these courses. This approach helps Germany maintain its 100% literacy rate while making education accessible to its citizens. This is the main German language requirements for Masters along with the other pointers one needs to keep in mind during the Application process. Thus, for Indian students looking to study in Germany, proficiency in German is essential if they wish to enroll in courses taught in the German language at public universities.
International students are required to submit proof of English as well as German language proficiency as many universities in Germany offer education in German. The test scores required to meet the German language requirements for Masters are –
- German Language Proficiency: DSH Level II or I, Goethe: C1 or C2 level, TestDaf: Level 2-4. The score required will depend.
- English Language Proficiency: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 90. These are the average scores and may vary from university to university depending upon their German language requirements for Masters.
